Morning Verse

"After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, etc." Matthew 6:9

This prayer begins where all true prayer must commence, with the spirit of adoption, "Our Father." There is no acceptable prayer until we can say, "I will arise, and go unto my Father." This child-like spirit soon perceives the grandeur of the Father "in heaven," and ascends to devout adoration, "Hallowed be Thy name." The child lisping, "Abba, Father," grows into the cherub crying, "Holy, Holy, Holy." There is but a step from rapturous worship to the glowing missionary spirit, which is a sure outgrowth of filial love and reverent adoration--"Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Next follows the heartfelt expression of dependence upon God--"Give us this day our daily bread." Being further illuminated by the Spirit, he discovers that he is not only dependent, but sinful, hence he entreats for mercy, "Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors:" and being pardoned, having the righteousness of Christ imputed, and knowing his acceptance with God, he humbly supplicates for holy perseverance, "Lead us not into temptation." The man who is really forgiven, is anxious not to offend again; the possession of justification leads to an anxious desire for sanctification. "Forgive us our debts," that is justification; "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil," that is sanctification in its negative and positive forms. As the result of all this, there follows a triumphant ascription of praise, "Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever, Amen." We rejoice that our King reigns in providence and shall reign in grace, from the river even to the ends of the earth, and of His dominion there shall be no end. Thus from a sense of adoption, up to fellowship with our reigning Lord, this short model of prayer conducts the soul. Lord, teach us thus to pray.

Evening Verse

"But their eyes were holden that they should not know Him." Luke 24:16

The disciples ought to have known Jesus, they had heard His voice so often, and gazed upon that marred face so frequently, that it is wonderful they did not discover Him. Yet is it not so with you also? You have not seen Jesus lately. You have been to His table, and you have not met Him there. You are in a dark trouble this evening, and though He plainly says, "It is I, be not afraid," yet you cannot discern Him. Alas! our eyes are holden. We know His voice; we have looked into His face; we have leaned our head upon His bosom, and yet, though Christ is very near us, we are saying "O that I knew where I might find Him!" We should know Jesus, for we have the Scriptures to reflect His image, and yet how possible it is for us to open that precious book and have no glimpse of the Wellbeloved! Dear child of God, are you in that state? Jesus feedeth among the lilies of the word, and you walk among those lilies, and yet you behold Him not. He is accustomed to walk through the glades of Scripture, and to commune with His people, as the Father did with Adam in the cool of the day, and yet you are in the garden of Scripture, but cannot see Him, though He is always there. And why do we not see Him? It must be ascribed in our case, as in the disciples', to unbelief. They evidently did not expect to see Jesus, and therefore they did not know Him. To a great extent in spiritual things we get what we expect of the Lord. Faith alone can bring us to see Jesus. Make it your prayer, "Lord, open Thou mine eyes, that I may see my Saviour present with me." It is a blessed thing to want to see Him; but oh! it is better far to gaze upon Him. To those who seek Him He is kind; but to those who find Him, beyond expression is He dear! i_amgodschild

Warfare Prayer 1 - Before Starting Your Day
Gracious God, I acknowledge that You are worthy of all honor, glory
and praise. I am thankful for the victorious work of Your Son, Jesus
Christ at Calvary for me. I appropriate His victory for myself now
as I willingly surrender every area of my life to Your will.

Thank you for the forgiveness and righteousness that has been given
to me as Your adopted child. I trust in Your protection and
provision daily. I know that your love for me never ceases.

I rejoice in Your victory, my Lord, over all the principalities and
powers in the heavenlies. In faith I stand in Your victory and
commit myself to live obediently for You my King.

I desire that my fellowship with You become greater. Reveal to me
those things that grieve You and enables the enemy to secure an
advantage in my life. I need the Holy Spirit's powerful ministry in
my life; bringing conviction of sin, repentance of heart,
strengthening my faith and increasing perseverance in resisting
temptation.

Help me to die to self and walk in the victory of the new creation
You have provided for me. Let the fruits of the Spirit flow out of
my life so that You will be glorified through my life.

I know that it is Your will that I should stand firm and resist all
of the enemy's work against me. Help me to discern the attacks upon
my thoughts and emotions. Enable me to stand upon Your Word and
resist all the accusations, distortions and condemnations that are
hurled against me.

It is my desire to be transformed through the renewing of my mind,
so that I will not compromise with the ways of the world, or yield
to the enemy's attacks, but be obedient to Your will.

I draw upon those spiritual resources that You have provided me and
I attack the strongholds and plans of the enemy that have been put
in place against me. I command in the name of Jesus Christ that the
enemy must release my mind, will, emotions and body completely. They
have been yielded to the Lord and I belong to Him.

Lord, enable me to become the person You created me to be. Help me
as I pray to be strong in faith. Show me how to apply Your Word in
my life each day. I know that I wear the full armor of God when I am
committed to and stand firmly upon Your Word. I want You to have the
supreme place in my life.

I surrender myself completely to You, Lord. You are always faithful
and You extend Your grace to me constantly, even when I do not
realize it. I claim Your promise of forgiveness and cleansing in its
fullness. In faith, I receive the victory today that you have
already put in place for me. I do this in the name of Jesus Christ,
my Savior with a grateful heart. In the name and power of the Blood

Warfare Prayer 2 - Before Starting Your Day
Heavenly Father, I bow in worship and praise before you. I cover
myself with the blood of Jesus Christ and claim the protection of
the blood for my family, my finances, my home, my spirit, soul and
body. I surrender myself completely in every area of my life to you.
I take a stand against all the workings of the devil that would try
and hinder me and my family from best serving you. I address myself
only to the true and living God who has all power and control over
everything. satan, I command you and all your demon forces of
darkness, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to leave my presence.
I bring the blood of Jesus Christ between the devil and my family,
my home, my finances, my spirit, soul and body. In Jesus Name

I declare, therefore, that satan and his wicked spirits are subject
to me in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Furthermore, in my own
life today I destroy and tear down all the strongholds of satan and
smash the plans of satan that have been formed against me and my
family. I tear down the strongholds of the devil against my mind and
I surrender my mind to you, Blessed Holy Spirit.

I affirm, Heavenly Father, that you have not given me the spirit of
fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Therefore, I resist the spirit of fear, in the name of Jesus, the
Son of the Living God, and I refuse to fear, refuse to doubt, refuse
to worry, because I have authority (power) over all the power of the
enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt me (Luke 10:19).

I claim complete and absolute victory over the forces of darkness in
the name of Jesus and I bind the devil and command him to loose my
peace, joy, prosperity, and every member of my family for the glory
of God and by FAITH I call it done. I break and smash the
strongholds of Satan formed against my emotions today and give my
emotions to you, Lord Jesus. I destroy the strongholds of satan
against my body today and I give my body to you Lord Jesus,
realizing that I am the Temple of the Holy Ghost (I Corinthians
3:16, I Corinthians 6:19-20).

Again, I cover myself with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and
pray that the Holy Ghost would bring all the work of the
crucifixion, all the work of the resurrection, all the work of the
ascension and all the work of restoration of the Lord Jesus Christ
into my life today. I surrender my life and possessions to you. I
refuse to fear, worry, or be discouraged in the name of Jesus. I
will not hate, envy, or show any type of bitterness toward my
brothers, sisters, or my enemies, but I will LOVE them with the love
of God shed aboard in my heart by the Holy Ghost.

Open my eyes and show me the areas of my life that do not please you
and give me the strength, grace and wisdom to remove any sin or
weight that would prevent your close fellowship. Work in me to
cleanse me from all ground that would give the devil a foothold
against me. I claim in every way the victory of the cross over all
satanic forces in my life. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ with thanksgiving and I welcome all the ministry of the Holy
Spirit. In the name and power of the Blood of Jesus, Amen

Satan, you and any evil spirit in your kingdom that could be in or around our properties, I bind you and drive you out in the Name of Jesus. Any astral projection or soul travel spirits that could be in or around our property, I command you, in the Name of Jesus, to go back where you came from.
I cover my mind, brain and memories, my conscious, unconscious and subconscious, with the blood of Jesus. I bind up any spirits of terror, fear, nightmares, or torment with the Blood of Jesus.

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus, and I ask You to forgive me of anything I have done that could displease You in any way. I ask You to cover me with the Blood of Jesus and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Cause my thoughts to be Your thoughts, my desires Your desires, my will Your will, and put a guard across my mouth that I can say no more or no less than You would have me say. Keep me on the path that You have laid out for me today, and show me satan’s tactics in advance.
I acknowledge the whole armor of God. I pray that every thought that satan or any of his kingdom tries to put in my mind will bounce off the helmet of salvation and return to the sender. Heal every memory that could hold me back from being all that You want me to be. I recognize that I have on the breastplate of righteousness, my loins are girded with the truth and my feet are shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. I take up the sword of the spirit and the shield of faith.
Now, for myself and all the people I am going to refer to, I ask You to draw us to Yourself, convict us mightily of our sins, keep us from temptation, deliver us from evil and cover us with the Blood of Jesus. Dispatch angels (and I now dispatch them) to keep us from any kind of accidents, harm, injuries, illness, death, destruction, disease, pain or infection.
Bind our marriages together and make us one in You. Bind our families together and make us one in You. If there is anyone in our lives that You do not approve of, I ask You to move them out and move in the people that You do approve of. Bless every bite of food we eat, the air we breathe and any medication we take; let it help us and not hurt us. Bless our finances and give us as much as we can handle without sinning against You.
Now, satan, I come against you and your entire kingdom and I declare, in the Name of Jesus, that you cannot and will not have any part in my life or the lives of the people I refer to, in any way shape or form. You can have nothing to do with our minds, bodies, souls, spirits, emotions and wills; our marriages, finances, friendships, acquaintances and fellowships; our homes, schools, workplaces and places of recreation; our transportation, or any vehicle that could come close to us; or any decision that is made concerning any one of us. (Now call out the name of every person that you pray for daily.)
For every person I have referred to, I now break every curse, spell and hex that may have been put out against any one of us. I break the power of any curse from a witch, warlock or satanist; every santerian curse, roots curse, Indian curse, voodoo curse, and curse of words spoken, or anything written or any objects. I reverse the curse and send it back to the demon that brought it in the first place, AND I COMMAND THAT DEMON TO GO BOUND INTO UNINHABITED DRY PLACES IN THE NAME OF JESUS. I break every ungodly emotional soul tie that is connected to any of us, in the Name of Jesus.
In the Name of Jesus and through His living blood, I bind and sever every cord of any prince or principality, any strong man and every spirit of darkness over my house at (your address). I put a Jesus Christ bloodline in between each one of you and I cut off your communications, confuse your camp, render you inactive, and cast you out, in Jesus’ Name.
I bind and cast out every spirit of poverty, lack, confusion, cloudiness, mind binding, selfishness, anxiety, and procrastination. I bind and cast out every spirit of fear, heaviness, jealousy, bondage, whoredom, lying, perversion, slumber and infirmity. I plead the blood of Jesus around the property line, above the roof, and below the foundation of my home, and I bind you, satan, and your entire kingdom from crossing the bloodline. I command you for myself and the people I have just referred to, that you can have nothing to do with us or any aspect of our lives in any way, shape or form! I now call on God’s warring angels to make it happen.
In the Name of Jesus, I loose myself and each family member to the power of the Holy Spirit and I speak forth blessings of prosperity, clarity, wisdom, understanding, knowledge, discernment, abundance, and good health. I also speak creativity and a sound mind. I take control of my mind and reflect every evil thought and receive every good thought, in the Name of Jesus. Satan, I take authority and command you and all your evil spirits to loose our family household and all the things you have stolen from us, including our property, income and investments, and return it seven-fold, in Jesus’ Name.
I ask you, Father, that You send Your warring angels and cause to come into our family all the monies, treasures, properties, assets and things satan has stolen from us that have been ours through the blessings of Jesus Christ.
In the Name of Jesus, I take authority and bind every principality and strong man over (name business, job and any endeavors) at (name locations). I come against and cast out every spirit of fear, mismanagement, poverty, confusion, lack, failure and bankruptcy. My sister had asked me to post this for her lady friend and her young grade school son.. It's the Janice Wyn Family whom asking for prayer for a trailer Home within the same school district simply because her son is stable in the school and making great grades and she don't want to mess her child up by pulling up stake to another area of where they reside.The mother is a believers and has help with(FIA) with their help in this single family in there home state. Please pass this unto other prayer partners in praying for this family. i_amgodschild

Morning Verse "The trees of the Lord are full of sap." Psalm 104:16

Without sap the tree cannot flourish or even exist. Vitality is essential to a Christian. There must be life--a vital principle infused into us by God the Holy Ghost, or we cannot be trees of the Lord. The mere name of being a Christian is but a dead thing, we must be filled with the spirit of divine life. This life is mysterious. We do not understand the circulation of the sap, by what force it rises, and by what power it descends again. So the life within us is a sacred mystery. Regeneration is wrought by the Holy Ghost entering into man and becoming man's life; and this divine life in a believer afterwards feeds upon the flesh and blood of Christ and is thus sustained by divine food, but whence it cometh and whither it goeth who shall explain to us? What a secret thing the sap is! The roots go searching through the soil with their little spongioles, but we cannot see them suck out the various gases, or transmute the mineral into the vegetable; this work is done down in the dark. Our root is Christ Jesus, and our life is hid in Him; this is the secret of the Lord. The radix of the Christian life is as secret as the life itself. How permanently active is the sap in the cedar! In the Christian the divine life is always full of energy--not always in fruit-bearing, but in inward operations. The believer's graces, are not every one of them in constant motion? but his life never ceases to palpitate within. He is not always working for God, but his heart is always living upon Him. As the sap manifests itself in producing the foliage and fruit of the tree, so with a truly healthy Christian, his grace is externally manifested in his walk and conversation. If you talk with him, he cannot help speaking about Jesus. If you notice his actions you will see that he has been with Jesus. He has so much sap within, that it must fill his conduct and conversation with life.

Evening Verse

"He began to wash the disciples' feet." John 13:5

The Lord Jesus loves His people so much, that every day He is still doing for them much that is analogous to washing their soiled feet. Their poorest actions He accepts; their deepest sorrow He feels; their slenderest wish He hears, and their every transgression He forgives. He is still their servant as well as their Friend and Master. He not only performs majestic deeds for them, as wearing the mitre on His brow, and the precious jewels glittering on His breastplate, and standing up to plead for them, but humbly, patiently, He yet goes about among His people with the basin and the towel. He does this when He puts away from us day by day our constant infirmities and sins. Last night, when you bowed the knee, you mournfully confessed that much of your conduct was not worthy of your profession; and even tonight, you must mourn afresh that you have fallen again into the selfsame folly and sin from which special grace delivered you long ago; and yet Jesus will have great patience with you; He will hear your confession of sin; He will say, "I will, be thou clean"; He will again apply the blood of sprinkling, and speak peace to your conscience, and remove every spot. It is a great act of eternal love when Christ once for all absolves the sinner, and puts him into the family of God; but what condescending patience there is when the Saviour with much long-suffering bears the oft recurring follies of His wayward disciple; day by day, and hour by hour, washing away the multiplied transgressions of His erring but yet beloved child! To dry up a flood of rebellion is something marvellous, but to endure the constant dropping of repeated offences--to bear with a perpetual trying of patience, this is divine indeed! While we find comfort and peace in our Lord's daily cleansing, its legitimate influence upon us will be to increase our watchfulness, and quicken our desire for holiness. Is it so? i_amgodschild

How much owest thou unto my Lord? Has He ever done anything for thee? Has He forgiven thy sins? Has He covered thee with a robe of righteousness? Has He set thy feet upon a rock? Has He established thy goings? Has He prepared heaven for thee? Has He prepared thee for heaven? Has He written thy name in His book of life? Has He given thee countless blessings? Has He laid up for thee a store of mercies, which eye hath not seen nor ear heard? Then do something for Jesus worthy of His love. Give not a mere wordy offering to a dying Redeemer. How will you feel when your Master comes, if you have to confess that you did nothing for Him, but kept your love shut up, like a stagnant pool, neither flowing forth to His poor or to His work. Out on such love as that! What do men think of a love which never shows itself in action? Why, they say, "Open rebuke is better than secret love." Who will accept a love so weak that it does not actuate you to a single deed of self-denial, of generosity, of heroism, or zeal! Think how He has loved you, and given Himself for you! Do you know the power of that love? Then let it be like a rushing mighty wind to your soul to sweep out the clouds of your worldliness, and clear away the mists of sin. "For Christ's sake" be this the tongue of fire that shall sit upon you: "for Christ's sake" be this the divine rapture, the heavenly afflatus to bear you aloft from earth, the divine spirit that shall make you bold as lions and swift as eagles in your Lord's service. Love should give wings to the feet of service, and strength to the arms of labour. Fixed on God with a constancy that is not to be shaken, resolute to honour Him with a determination that is not to be turned aside, and pressing on with an ardour never to be wearied, let us manifest the constraints of love to Jesus. May the divine loadstone draw us heavenward towards itself.

"Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest O Israel, My way is hid from the Lord, and my judgment is passed over from my God?" The Lord cares for all things, and the meanest creatures share in His universal providence, but His particular providence is over His saints. "The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him." "Precious shall their blood be in His sight." "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." "We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are the called according to His purpose." Let the fact that, while He is the Saviour of all men, He is specially the Saviour of them that believe, cheer and comfort you. You are His peculiar care; His regal treasure which He guards as the apple of His eye; His vineyard over which He watches day and night. "The very hairs of your head are all numbered." Let the thought of His special love to you be a spiritual pain-killer, a dear quietus to your woe: "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." God says that as much to you as to any saint of old. "Fear not, I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward." We lose much consolation by the habit of reading His promises for the whole church, instead of taking them directly home to ourselves. Believer, grasp the divine word with a personal, appropriating faith. Think that you hear Jesus say, "I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail not." Think you see Him walking on the waters of thy trouble, for He is there, and He is saying, "Fear not, it is I; be not afraid." Oh, those sweet words of Christ! May the Holy Ghost make you feel them as spoken to you; forget others for awhile--accept the voice of Jesus as addressed to you, and say, "Jesus whispers consolation; I cannot refuse it; I will sit under His shadow with great delight."

Intercessors Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You, in Jesus' name,
Father, You created Charlie. You formed him. You knit his inward parts in the womb. You alone know how to make what is right in Charlie's body. You alone know how to heal Charlie. As his Creator, I pray that You would grant healing to Charlie. Let Your power envelop himand bring the healing that is needed (Genesis 1:26; Psalm 139).
You are the God of healing. Your name declares that You are the Healer. Your nature is to heal. I plead with You to be true to Your name and Your nature. I ask You to release healing into Charlie's life. Reveal Yourself to be the God of healing by touching and transforming Charlie (Exodus 15:26).
I praise You, O God that one of Your first revelations about Yourself is that You are a God who heals and makes whole. The essence of who You are is to heal and make whole. I plead in the name of Jesus that You would heal and make Charlie whole (Exodus 15:26).
Father, Your Word says that You heal all our diseases. I plead in the name of Jesus that You will heal the Liver of breaking the soul tie between healthy the Cancer. Awaken the body's natural defenses. We pray Oxygen into all of the Cancer Cells be restored, as God removes all sugars from His bloodstream as His powerful anointing flows through as God and I speak to the liver and as sorts of his living cells to realign with the spirit within the golls. Drive this completely out of his body (Psalm 103:1-4).
Father, I plead that You will heal Charlie because of Jesus' work on the cross. By His death and the merits of His blood, I pray that You would grant healing to Charlie (Isaiah 53:4-5).
Lord Jesus, You said "according to your faith, let it be to you." I pray that You would grant Charlie the faith in order to believe Your Word for his healing (Matthew 9:29).Lord Jesus, like the woman in the crowd who touched the hem of Your garment and was healed, I pray that Charlie would reach out to You. Your healing virtue is available to those who reach out to You. I ask that Charlie would experience this healing power when he reaches out to You (Mark 5:24-34).
Father, when doubt or unbelief starts to fill Charlie's mind and heart concerning healing, I pray that he will focus on the words of Jesus, "Do not fear, only believe" (Mark 5:36).
Lord Jesus, You have been exalted as Lord over all. This includes all sickness and disease. In the Your name and through Your power, I pray that You would remove The soul ties between his healthy tissue's and the cancer from Charlie's life (Philippians 2:9-11).
Father, in Jesus' name and because of His blood, I plead that You would bind any evil spirits that are involved inCharlie's condition. Bind the spirit of fear that says he will only get worse (Matthew 16:19).
Father, I plead that You would remove any obstacle Charlie's that would prevent him from receiving healing (James 5:16).
Father, I pray that You would pour out Your mercy and grace on Charlie during this time of sickness. Let Your power sustain him until healing comes to his life (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Father, in the midst of the pain with no outward improvements, enable Charlie to be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in love and obedience for You. I plead that Charlie will keep his eyes fixed on You, his Healer and Sustainer (1 Corinthians 15:58).
Father, You are full of mercy and compassion for Charlie. He is suffering and needs Your healing. Because of Your unfailing mercy and compassion, I plead that You will release Your healing power in Charlie's life. I ask that You would he has as a concrete expression of Your mercy and compassion (2 Corinthians 1:3; Lamentations 3:22-23).
Father, the Lord Jesus Christ has taught me to ask, seek, and knock. I ask You to grant healing to Charlie. I seek You for the release of Your power into his life. I am knocking for the blessing of physical and spiritual wholeness in Charlie's life (Matthew 7:7).
Father, I ask in the name of Jesus for You to heal Charlie so that You might be glorified. Grant healing Charlie so that people might praise You and honor You for Your love, compassion, and power (John 11:4; Acts 4:21).
Just as the people who brought the blind man of Bethsaida, I bring Charlie to You. I lift him up to You in prayer. I beg You to touch him. I plead with You to grant healing in his life (Mark 8:22-25).
Father, I believe that You are willing to heal. I believe that You have the power to heal. Because of this, I pray that You would heal Charlie. In faith, I plead for the release of Your healing power in his life (Matthew 9:2, 15:28).

Father, You are the God who has the power to take sickness away from Charlie. I plead in the name of Jesus that You would remove all sugars from his bloodstream from Charlies life (Exodus 23:25)
Father, I pray that Charlie would not be wise in his own eyes and that he would shun and avoid evil. Let this bring health to Charlie's body and nourishment to his bones (Proverbs 3:7-8).
Father, You give power to the faint and You give strength to those who have no strength. Father, Charlie has no strength and is faint because of his illness. I plead that You would grant power and strength to Charlie (Isaiah 40:29).
Father, Charlie's body has been bought with a price, the precious blood of Jesus. Charlie's body belongs to You. This disease is trespassing on Your property. I plead in the name of Jesus that You would evict this disease from Charlie's body (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

I thank You, Lord Jesus Christ, that You came to set the captive free. You have commanded that Your disciples do likewise. As a disciple and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and one covered with His blood and seated with Him in the Heavenly realms; I take up the authority that He has given me. I now declare that all the soul ties and cords of iniquity are broken off(Charlie). Charlie is set free from all bondage. I declare that all cords of iniquity and ungodly bonds between (Charlie) and any person or persons are cut. I also declare that any ungodly bonds between your soul and spirit are cut. I come in agreement with (Charlie) and command all the spirits from the controller(s) to leave now and never return, in Jesus' name. I COMMEND you (Charlie) to walk by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, allowing God's control in your life. Morning Verse

"Grow up into Him in all things." Ephesians 4:15

Many Christians remain stunted and dwarfed in spiritual things, so as to present the same appearance year after year. No up-springing of advanced and refined feeling is manifest in them. They exist but do not "grow up into Him in all things." But should we rest content with being in the "green blade," when we might advance to "the ear," and eventually ripen into the "full corn in the ear?" Should we be satisfied to believe in Christ, and to say, "I am safe," without wishing to know in our own experience more of the fulness which is to be found in Him. It should not be so; we should, as good traders in heaven's market, covet to be enriched in the knowledge of Jesus. It is all very well to keep other men's vineyards, but we must not neglect our own spiritual growth and ripening. Why should it always be winter time in our hearts? We must have our seed time, it is true, but O for a spring time--yea, a summer season, which shall give promise of an early harvest. If we would ripen in grace, we must live near to Jesus--in His presence--ripened by the sunshine of His smiles. We must hold sweet communion with Him. We must leave the distant view of His face and come near, as John did, and pillow our head on His breast; then shall we find ourselves advancing in holiness, in love, in faith, in hope--yea, in every precious gift. As the sun rises first on mountain-tops and gilds them with his light, and presents one of the most charming sights to the eye of the traveller; so is it one of the most delightful contemplations in the world to mark the glow of the Spirit's light on the head of some saint, who has risen up in spiritual stature, like Saul, above his fellows, till, like a mighty Alp, snow-capped, he reflects first among the chosen, the beams of the Sun of Righteousness, and bears the sheen of His effulgence high aloft for all to see, and seeing it, to glorify His Father which is in heaven.

Evening Verse

"Keep not back." Isaiah 43:6

Although this message was sent to the south, and referred to the seed of Israel, it may profitably be a summons to ourselves. Backward we are naturally to all good things, and it is a lesson of grace to learn to go forward in the ways of God. Reader, are you unconverted, but do you desire to trust in the Lord Jesus? Then keep not back. Love invites you, the promises secure you success, the precious blood prepares the way. Let not sins or fears hinder you, but come to Jesus just as you are. Do you long to pray? Would you pour out your heart before the Lord? Keep not back. The mercy-seat is prepared for such as need mercy; a sinner's cries will prevail with God. You are invited, nay, you are commanded to pray, come therefore with boldness to the throne of grace.

Dear friend, are you already saved? Then keep not back from union with the Lord's people. Neglect not the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper. You may be of a timid disposition, but you must strive against it, lest it lead you into disobedience. There is a sweet promise made to those who confess Christ--by no means miss it, lest you come under the condemnation of those who deny Him. If you have talents keep not back from using them. Hoard not your wealth, waste not your time; let not your abilities rust or your influence be unused. Jesus kept not back, imitate Him by being foremost in self-denials and self-sacrifices. Keep not back from close communion with God, from boldly appropriating covenant blessings, from advancing in the divine life, from prying into the precious mysteries of the love of Christ. Neither, beloved friend, be guilty of keeping others back by your coldness, harshness, or suspicions. For Jesus' sake go forward yourself, and encourage others to do the like. Hell and the leaguered bands of superstition and infidelity are forward to the fight. O soldiers of the cross, keep not back. i_amgodschild
